Countdown Timers

Add urgency to your checkout pages to boost conversions

Countdown timers create urgency on your checkout pages, encouraging customers to complete their purchase before time runs out.

Timer Types

Relative Timer

Tracked per customer. The countdown starts from when that specific customer first visited the page. If they return an hour later, the timer continues from where it left off.

Absolute Timer

Set a fixed expiry date. Everyone sees the same countdown to that date. For example, set it to expire on November 20th and all visitors see "5 days remaining."

Layout Options

Inline

Displays at the top of your checkout page, integrated into the content.

Overlay

Displays as a sticky bar at the top or bottom of the page. Stays visible as customers scroll — they can't escape the urgency.

Configuration

Timer Text

Customise the message displayed with the timer. Default: "Hurry! This offer will end in..."

Expired Redirect URL

Control what happens when the timer runs out:

  • Leave empty: Soft urgency. Timer expires but customers can still checkout.
  • Add a URL: Hard expiry. Customers are redirected to that page and can no longer access the checkout.

For hard expiry, create a custom page explaining the offer has ended, and include an email capture form to notify them of future offers.

Design Variants

Three built-in designs:

  • Simple: Clean, minimal timer display
  • Blocks: Time units in separate blocks — stands out more
  • Big Timer: Larger countdown display for maximum impact

Colour

Set the timer background colour. Dark colours (red, orange) display white text. Light colours (yellow) display darker text. Red works well for urgency.
