Geo-routed checkouts for Kajabi with PayFast and PayPal
Sell your Kajabi course in Rands, Euros and Dollars from one link — PayFast for South African buyers, PayPal for everyone else.
If you sell courses or digital products from South Africa, your buyers split into two groups with opposite expectations at checkout.
Local buyers want prices in Rands and a payment method they trust — PayFast, Capitec Pay, Yoco. International buyers mostly have no idea what a Rand is worth. They want to pay in their own currency through something familiar, which in practice usually means PayPal.
Most checkouts serve one of these groups and lose the other. Price in Dollars and your South African customers land on a foreign-currency page and fall off. Price in Rands and your international customers get confused and leave.
A geo-routed checkout fixes this: one link, and every buyer lands on a checkout configured for where they are. This guide walks through the full setup for a Kajabi offer.
One checkout link for one Kajabi offer, with three routes:
South Africa → a checkout priced in Rands, paid through PayFast
European Union → a checkout priced in Euros, paid through PayPal, with the page automatically translated into the visitor's language
Rest of the world → a checkout in US Dollars through PayPal, with multiple currencies enabled so Australians see Australian Dollars, Brits see Pounds and Canadians see Canadian Dollars
After payment, every buyer goes to your thank-you page (you can also set one per route), and CheckoutJoy activates the customer on your Kajabi offer in the background.
You don't need a Stripe account, a foreign entity or an LLC. The whole setup takes about 15 minutes.
Before touching any checkouts, connect your payment processors under Settings → Payment Methods. The processor guides above walk through each connection.
Connecting a Kajabi offer comes down to one field: in Kajabi, open the offer and copy its webhook URLs. In CheckoutJoy, open the product's Kajabi Settings tab and paste in the Activation URL and Deactivation URL. See the Kajabi integration guide for the full walkthrough.
In Kajabi, change any automation triggers from "When offer is purchased" to "When offer is granted" — external checkouts grant offers rather than purchase them.
One link, one Kajabi offer, three CheckoutJoy products. Each product links to the same Kajabi offer (same webhook URLs in the Kajabi Settings tab) but carries its own price and its own checkout, so every region gets configured independently.
Under Payment Processors, enable PayFast only. Paystack and Yoco work too, but this route should offer just your local option — your international processors don't belong here.
Add anything else the checkout needs: billing address fields, a business-purchase option so buyers can enter VAT details, a terms-and-conditions checkbox, testimonials, a countdown timer.
Enable PayPal. PayPal card payments are on by default, so customers can pay by card without needing a PayPal account.
Under Language, Currencies & Regions, turn on automatic language translation. The checkout renders in the visitor's language — a buyer in France sees the whole page in French.
Enable PayPal, keep US Dollars as the base currency.
Under Language, Currencies & Regions, enable multiple currencies and pick the currencies you want to offer (AUD, CAD, GBP, and so on). You can drop EUR here since the EU route has its own checkout.
Turn on auto-convert by customer location and round totals to 0 decimals so converted prices display clean.
PayPal supports around 25 currencies — check your selection against PayPal's supported currencies list. The major currencies are all covered.
See Currencies for more on multi-currency checkouts.
Open your link. From South Africa you should see the Rand checkout with PayFast (including Google Pay and Apple Pay if enabled on your PayFast account).
To test the other routes, connect a VPN to another country and refresh — the same link serves the rest-of-the-world checkout in US Dollars, and switching the currency selector converts the price in real time.
When a payment is confirmed, CheckoutJoy activates the customer on your Kajabi account automatically. Kajabi grants access to the offer and sends the welcome emails and everything else you've set up, the same as a purchase made on Kajabi itself.
This guide uses Kajabi, but the same flow works on Thinkific, GoHighLevel and every other platform CheckoutJoy supports.
