One checkout for Argentina, Mexico, Chile & beyond.
MercadoPago covers most of LatAm with local methods, installments, and a familiar buyer experience. CheckoutJoy connects it to Kajabi, Thinkific, Kartra, and HighLevel โ and pairs it with Stripe where you need international card coverage too.
Payment realities across Latin America
Brazil has its own page because Pix/boleto are unique to it. The rest of LatAm โ Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay โ runs primarily on MercadoPago, with local card processing, installments (cuotas/parcelas), and country-specific bank transfer methods. Local currencies are volatile (ARS, CLP especially) so multi-currency display matters. Stripe coverage in the region is patchy and rarely a substitute for the local processor.

MercadoPago
The default for Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and most of LatAm.
Single processor that covers most LatAm markets with local cards, installments, and country-specific bank-transfer methods. Subscription support included. The buyer experience is the most familiar across the region.
MercadoPago + Kajabi setupStripe (where available)
If you need international card coverage in parallel.
Stripe operates in Brazil and Mexico (among others) but doesn't replace MercadoPago for local methods. Use Stripe as a secondary processor for international USD-paying buyers while MercadoPago handles local currency.

Frequently asked
- Does one MercadoPago account cover the whole region?
- MercadoPago accounts are country-specific. You'll set up the account in your primary market and may need separate accounts for other countries depending on your business structure and where you settle funds. CheckoutJoy supports multiple processor accounts per CheckoutJoy account where needed.
- What about Brazil?
- Brazil uses MercadoPago too, but with Pix and boleto in addition to cards. See our Brazil page for that specific setup.
- Can I price in ARS, CLP, MXN separately?
- Yes. Use multi-currency to set prices per country, or let CheckoutJoy convert from a base currency. Given ARS and CLP volatility, fixed-per-currency pricing is often safer than auto-conversion.
- Does MercadoPago handle subscriptions?
- Yes โ recurring billing for memberships and payment plans is supported in BRL, ARS, MXN, CLP, and other regional currencies.
