Payment realities in the UAE & GCC
Stripe UAE supports AED card payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. UAE VAT (5%) and the equivalent Saudi VAT (15%) need to be calculated and displayed on the checkout and on invoices — most international checkout tools don't do this correctly for the region. Buyers expect inclusive ("VAT included") pricing as standard, not US-style exclusive pricing.

- Yes. Configure your UAE TRN in our Sales Tax settings and we apply 5% VAT to UAE buyers. Same approach for Saudi 15% — configure the rate and it's applied automatically.
- Can I show prices inclusive of VAT?
- Yes. Toggle inclusive/exclusive pricing in your settings. GCC default is inclusive — buyers see the all-in price and the VAT breakdown is shown on the invoice.
- Is Arabic checkout available?
- CheckoutJoy auto-translates the checkout based on the buyer's browser language. Custom field labels and your product copy are configurable per language.
- What about other GCC countries — Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait?
- Stripe coverage varies. Saudi is supported. For markets where Stripe isn't available, contact us about other processor options.
